Security

We believe safety is built on a foundation of prevention, preparedness, and partnership. Our comprehensive strategy includes:

• A Multi-Layered Security Framework: We use a combination of physical security measures, trained personnel, and clear procedures tailored to each school.
• Continuous Training: Our security team and all staff members undergo regular, ongoing training for a wide range of emergency situations.
• Strong Community Partnerships: We maintain close relationships with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical services.

On-Site Safety Personnel

• Campus Security Monitors: Trained security staff are present at all our schools, monitoring entrances, hallways, and campuses to ensure a visible and reassuring presence.

Building Security

• Controlled Access: All exterior doors remain locked during school hours. All visitors must enter through a single designated entrance and be granted access via an audio/video buzzer system.
• Visitor Management: Every visitor is required to report to the main office, present a valid ID, and receive a visitor badge through our Raptor or similar security system, which screens against national sex offender databases.
• Video Surveillance: Security cameras monitor common areas, building perimeters, and parking lots to enhance security and assist in investigations.

We have detailed, site-specific emergency operations plans for various scenarios. All schools conduct regular, age-appropriate drills, including:

What to Expect During an Emergency

Clear communication is critical. In the event of an emergency, our district will:

1. Activate Our Emergency Plan: Staff and security will immediately implement our practiced protocols to secure students and staff.
2. Notify Families: We will use our mass notification system (phone, email, SMS) to provide official updates and instructions. Please ensure your contact information is always current in our student information system.

Parent/Guardian Guidance: For the safety of all, please do not come directly to the school during an emergency unless instructed to do so. This prevents traffic jams that can block emergency responders. Rely on our official communication for reunification locations and procedures.
